WiththeL-J(Lennard-Jones12-6)potentialfunction,theshockHugoniotsofwaterwere calculatedbyusingVLWequationofstate.Thecalculationresultsagreewellwiththeexperimental datawhenthepotentialparameter/Kis120andb0is30.42.VLW EOScancharacterizetheshock HugoniotofwatermoreaccuratelythanBKW EOS.
