Abstract
Abstract:BytakingtheblastingexcavationoftheHongyanhenuclearpowerplantfoundationforexample, themechanicalpropertiesoftherockmasswereanalysedinthedifferentregionsofthenuclear islands,andthedamagedepthdifferencesoftherockmasswerediscussedfordifferentlayersunder excavation.Itwaspointedoutthatthecontrolmethodandsafetythresholdshouldbebroughtforward bythepracticalrockblasting.Basedonblastingvibrationsurveyingandsoundwavetestingconducted inconstructionsite,therelationshipbetweendamagezonesizeandpeakparticlevelocitywasinvestigatedfortherockmassatagivendistancefromthecentreofthechar ingarea,andthecorresponding empiricalformulawasestablished.Accordingly,thesafetythresholdofblastingvibrationwasgiven forthedifferentrockstratainnuclearislandsandthedifferentexcavationschemewasdetermined withthedifferentallowabledamagedepth.Resultsprovethatthemethodandthresholdareapplicable toholdthedamagedepthofrockandtoensuretheintegrityofthebedrockunderblastingexcavation.
