  • Anewmethodforvelocityprofiledataprocessingofupdatedinstantaneousdisplacementinterferometerisdevelopedinthispaper, whichmainlyaimsattheDPS(displacementpinsystem)in ChinaandPDV (photonDopplervelocimeter)inAmerica.Thismethodisbasedontheideaofrevivifyingmeasuredsignalbynon- linearregressionanalysis(NLRA),andthemainanalyzingprocessis presented.ComparingwiththetraditionalPick-Peaksmethodwhichisbasedondiscretedataprocessingidea, itcanobtainhigheraccuracyforvelocityprofileandhasastrongerabilitytodistinguishits details,especiallywhenitisusedtodealwithelasitc-plasticlowpressureimpactresponseofmaterials. Atlast,thecharacteristicsofthismethodarediscussedindetailbycalculatingthefree-surface velocityprofilesofSnand45steelundergoingalowpressureplanarimpactandmeasuredwithDPS.
