  • Strainrateeffecttests,limitedstraintestsandcumulatedstraintestswereconductedona vanadium-basedalloy(V-5Cr-5Ti)respectivelybyusingasplit-Hopkinsonpressurebar(SHPB)systematroomtemperature. Theeffectsofstrainrateandstraincumulatingonthedynamiccompressive mechanicalpropertiesofV-5Cr-5Tiwereanalyzed.Themicrostructuresofthespecimensbeforeand afterdynamiccompressionwereinvestigatedbyapplyinganopticalmicroscope.TheexperimentalresultsshowthatthedynamicpropertiesofV- 5Cr-5Tiexhibitobvioussensitivitytothestrainratesand thestrainhistory,andtheeffectofstrainhistoryismoreobvious.Forspecimensathighstrainrates, thetwinsappearwhenthestrainissmallerthan0.20,andthetwinsdecreasewhilethestrainislarger than0.20.
