Abstract
Toexploretheinfluenceofthechamberboundaryshapeonthecombustioncontrolina
bulk-loadedliquid-mediumelectrothermal-chemicalgun,theplasmajetpropagationintheliquidmediumwasexperimentallyinvestigatedbyusingahigh-
speeddigitalcamera.Specialattentionwaspaidto
theplasmajet-liquidmediuminteractionundertheconditionsofdifferentdischargevoltages,different
nozzlediametersanddifferentdivergentboundaries.Thetime-sequencephotosoftheplasmajetpropagationintheliquidmedium
wereobtained,fromthephotostheaxialdisplacementhistoriesofthe
Taylorcavitywereachievedunderthedifferentconditions,andthecorrespondingpropagationvelocitiesoftheTaylorcavitywerecalculated.
Sequentially,theinteractionmechanismbetweentheplasma
jetandtheliquidmediumwasanalyzed.TheresultsindicatethatthoughtheaxialvelocityoftheTaylorcavityisfluctuant,
asawholeitisdecrescent;andthatatthewallsteps,theradialturbulenceof
theplasmajetisenhanced,whichcanstrengthentheentrainmenteffectofreflux.
