Abstract
Basedontheone-stepchemicalreactionEulerequations,thehighresolutionhybridRoe/
HLLschemeandtheadaptivemeshrefinement(AMR)methodwereemployedtonumericallyinvestigatetheprocessofdetonationinducedbythecollisionofthediffractedshockwavesinsideasquare
tubewithacubemountedattheaxis.Andtheeffectsofthetubeblockageratioswerediscussedon
thedetonationformation.Numericalresultsshowthatwhentheweakshockwavespassaroundthe
squareobstruct,boththeupanddownweakshockwavediffractionsoccur,andtheycollidewitheach
otherbehindtheobstructafteraperiodofexpansion,ahighpressureandtemperaturepointcanbe
generatedduringthecollision,whichcanignitethecombustiblegasesandacceleratetheformationof
detonation.However,withalargeblockageratio,astheshockwaveistooweakduringthecollision,
thedetonationcannotbeinitiated.
