Abstract
Newequipmentwhichcoulddriveaplanarflyerviathenetworkdetonationtechniqueto
generatelowimpactstressandlowimpactvelocitywasdesigned.Thevelocityandplanarityofthe
flyerandtheotherequipmentparameterswereanalyzedbyusingexperimentalmeasurementandnumericalsimulation.
Resultsindicatethattheequipmentcoulddrivethehigh-purityOFHCflyerwith
100-mmdiameterand3-mmthicknessapproachingastablevelocityafterabout2mmflight.Thevelocityoftheflyeriscontinuouslyadjustablefromabout200to350m/
swithgoodplanarityanduniformity.
Thenetworkdetonation-loadingmethodcanbeusedtolaunchaflyerplateatlowvelocity.
