Abstract
Animproveddifferencemethodofcharacteristicsisdiscribed.Twogroupsofcharacteristic
equationswithentropytermsarededucedaccordingtothebasicmechanicsequations,andtheparticle
pathlineisaddedintheequationsetasthethirdcharacteristicequation.Theisentropicflowafter
blastshockwavecanbesolvedusingthethreecharacteristicequations.Thereisnoartificialviscosity
termintheequations,sotheinfluenceofthehumaninterventionisreduced.Then,byapplyingthe
improveddifferencemethodofcharacteristics,theunderwaterexplosionofthesphericalchargeof
compositionB-3isstimulated.Inthescaleddistanceof1R/R04,thepeakpressureerrorbetween
thenumericalcalculationresultsandtheexperimentcurveislessthan13.1%,whichprovesthatthe
improveddifferencemethodofcharacteristicsisreasonable.
