Abstract
Basedonthetwo-dimensionalringsystem,acomputationalmodelwasdevelopedfordensity-
gradedcircularhoneycomb materialsbychangingthewallthicknessesoftherings.Andfurther
discussionwascarriedoutfortheinfluencesofthedensitygradientvariationontheenergy-absorption
performancesofthedensity-gradedhoneycombmaterialsimpactedbytherigidplateatdifferentvelocities.
Theresultsshowthatforthehoneycombmaterialwiththerelativedensitydecreasingfromthe
impactendtothefixedend,underahigh-velocityimpact,thehigherthedensitygradient,themore
theenergyabsorbedperunitmass.
