Abstract
Basedontheexistentinvestigationsthatthemainfailurepatternofanthraciteunderuniaxial
impactloadingisthecombineddamageoftensilestressdamage,extensiblestraindamageandunloadingdamage,
butcompression-shearingdamageisinfrequent,acompression-extension-tensiondamagemodelwasproposedtoanalyzetheimpact-
inducedfractureinanthracite.Andaccordingtotheenergybalanceprincipleandthefracturetheory,
thetheoreticalformulaforcalculationofthedynamic
strengthintheproposedmodelwasdeducedtodeterminethequantitativerelationshipbetweentherelateddynamicparametersofanthracite.
Aseriesofcompressivestrengthsofanthracitewerecalculatedbythededucedformula.
Comparisonsshowthatthecalculatedresultsareinagreementwiththe
existentmeasuredones.Sothededucedformulacanbeusedtoestimatetheextremestrengthofanthraciteunderuniaxialimpactloadinganditcanrevealthedamagemechanism
fanthracite-likeporousmediaunderimpactloading.
