Abstract
Dynamiccompressiontestsforpolyurethanefoam wereperformedonanelongatedsplit
Hopkinsonpressurebarsetup,theincidentbarofwhichwassixmeterlongandthestrikerwaseight
decimeterlong.Apulseshaperwasusedtoachievethedynamicbalanceinthestressesatthetwo
sidesofthespecimens.About600-microsecondpulseswereexperimentallyobtainedandthestressstraincurvesofpolyurethanefoam
wereattainedatthestrainrateof520s-1andthestrainof0.15.
Andthediscussionswerecarriedoutfortherelationofstrainrateandstressbalanceatthetwosides
ofthespecimens.
