Abstract
Abstract:Arotor-bearingsystemunderbase-transferredshockexcitationwasestablishedbyapplying
theGalerkinfiniteelementmodeltosimulatetheshipboardrotatingmachinerysubjectedtounderwaternon-
contactexplosion.Basedonthe Newton'stheorem,moment-of-momentum theorem and
Timoshenkobeamtheory,thedynamicdifferentialequationsofthissystemwerederivedbysyntheticallyconsideringtherotatinginertia,
shearforce,gyroscopiceffect,axialforce,axialtorqueandoil
filmforce.Thedynamicdifferentialequationsweresolvedbyusingthefinitedifferencemethodsin
thetimedomainandthefiniteelementmethodinthespacedomain,respectively.Andthetime-varyingshockresponsesofthissystemwereobtained.
Theaccuracyoftheproposedmodelwasverified.
Finally,anapplicationexamplewasgiventoanalyzetheinfluencesofthegyroscopiceffectandsteady
workloadingontheshockresponsesofthissystem.Investigatedresultsshowthattheaccuracyofthe
proposedmodelingandcomputationmethodcanmeettheengineeringrequirementandthegyroscopic
effecthasanobviousinfluenceontheshockresponses;andthattheworkloadingcantoneupthesystemresponse,
buttheoverallresponsewiththesteadyworkloadingbeingconsideredisdistinctfrom
thesumofthesteadyresponseandtheshockresponsewithoutthesteadyworkloadingbeingconsidered.
