Abstract
Accordingtotherelationbetweenthemetalconductorsspecificactionandresistivityand
theanalyticalformulaforthevariationoftheexplodingwirewithtimebroughtforwardbyHobson,
twocomputationalmodelsweredevelopedtoexploretheelectricalcharacteristicsofanelectricexplodingcopperwireopeningswitch
(EEOS)byusingthesoftwarePspice.Andthevoltageacrossthe
EEOSwasexperimentallyobtained.TheexperimentalresultsindicatethattheHobsonmodeliseffectiveonlybeforethevaporizationoftheelectricexplodingcopperwire;
thatthespecificaction-resistivitymodelcanbeusedtomacroscopicallydescribethewholeelectricexplodingprocess.
Sothesetwo
modelscanbeusedtosimulatethehigh-voltageandhigh-currentcircuitswiththeEEOSs,andthe
simulatedresultsarehelpfulforthedesignoftheEEOSs.
