  • Basedonthethree-dimensionalSPH method,thevariablesmoothinglengthmodificationis appliedtothetraditionallinked-listsearchalgorithm,andthestableapproachofdealingwithmultiphasematerialinterfaceisputforward. Throughsimulatingunderwaterexplosionoffreefield,the feasibilityandeffectivenessofthe modified methodareverified.Thethree-dimensionalnumerical modelisestablished,andtheprocessofunderwaterexplosionnearfreesurfaceisreproduced.Characteristicsofshockwavepropagation, pressurefieldandenergyfieldaresummedup.Theeffectofdifferentexplosiondepthontheinitialwatercolumnformationisstudied. Resultsshowthatfreesurface canattenuatethepeakpressureandimpulsetoonethirdandoneseventhoftheoriginalvalues,respectively. Withtheincreaseofdetonationdepth,curvatureoftheequivalentcylinderofpeakpressureratioandimpulseratiodecrease, andtheproducedwatercolumngraduallytransitsfrombroken andspraycolumntohighandnarrow mound.
