Abstract
Ninediscretemulti-layeredcylindersweremanufacturedwiththesamematerialsandthe
magnificationfactorof4.Aseriesofexplosionexperimentswereconductedunderinternalexplosive
loadingtoinvestigatetheiranti-explosioncapabilityandscaleeffect.Experimentalresultsshowthat
theirlimitingTNTchargesareall0.89%~1.11%inrelativemass,andthattheanti-explosioncapabilityofthediscretemulti-
layeredcylindersisnotattenuatedsignificantlyaftermagnified4times.It
isattributedtothereasonthatthereisnostrongscaleeffectofanenergynatureintheirsteelribbon
layerswhichconstructthemainload-supportingcapabilityofdiscretemulti-layeredexplosioncontainmentvessels.
